From 1996 to 2007, this website provided free access to Canadian racing past
performances information and pedigrees. In March 2007, Standardbred Canada
filed a lawsuit to shut it down. Rather than fight the lawsuit (an expense I
couldn't afford) - I was forced to remove all racing data from public access
and in fact terminate the server completely.
Online racing information is still available from Standardbred Canada for a fee - that product/service is called "TrackIt". There is currently a push from the SC membership to the SC directors for free TrackIt access which would be a huge
step in the right direction. Lets see if SC can make this leap and put the industry
ahead of its own corporate greed.
I still collect and archive Canadian harness racing on my desktop PC. If you'd like to do the same (archive on your desktop PC) then email me and I'll consider sharing my software with you. However, SC is offering trackit to Canadian horsemen for $20 a year which is a MUCH better solution for most and I encourage us all to try it out.
Without racing information MDanko.com is pretty dull. All that is left are my personal opinions on racing in BLOG format. Read through these and email me your comments/suggestions.
One newer project is my List Of Issues which keeps track of all/any issue anybody has with racing. We don't have the ability to fix them all but documenting and discussing them is a good start and doing it in this forum saves us from talking about it in the paddocks on race nights.
